Presidio Brass is a dynamic force in American brass chamber music. With a unique and exciting repertoire written specifically for their ensemble, this San Diego-based quintet is committed to offering engaging programs and forging lasting bonds with their audiences while promoting music education/appreciation for the next generation.
Trained at the Juilliard School, Boston Conservatory and Manhattan School of Music, the members have performed with many orchestras including the London Philharmonic and Los Angeles Philharmonic, on motion picture soundtracks, and even on video game music!
Vega String Quartet Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009
On the cutting edge of chamber music ensembles, Vega String Quartet has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Van Cliburn Institute and is currently the resident ensemble at Emory University. All International Competition winners, they have toured throughout Asia, Mexico, Europe and the U. S. and have been featured on NPRs Performance Today. Praised for their exacting precision, they have won four of the top six prizes at the Bordeaux String Quartet Competition.

This thirteen-member ensemble from Hampton Roads is comprised of selected musicians performing on more than five octaves of Schulmerich bells, five and a half octaves of handchimes, three octaves of Petit and Fritsen bells, and other percussion instruments. Under director Al Reese, the VHC offers a stunning demonstration in the classic art of English handbell ringing.
